Second Coral cats Cruise

After a very bad night’s sleep. I managed to get up and get to the bus stop on time, acquiring some more sun cream. I was picked up by Nita who was also driving a friend in. We chatted about my friend Yu. Charlie actually knows where Yu lives and hopefully we will be going around to her house tomorrow. I bought a special top to protect my back, some new swim shorts and a book for my step grand children.

I met another Australian couple called Steve and Ronnie from Sydney, who took me under their wing and told hilarious stories about their lives. When we boarded the boat, the crew remembered me and I met a newly wed couple and we chatted about this and that.

Steve and Ronnie

I decided to go on the snorkeling tour where I saw a big sting Ray (I was the only one to see it as it quickly swam into the distant gloom then later the guide pointed out a row of black squid. They were smaller than I imagined and swam very gracefully.

The lagoon

Lunch was amazing and afterwards I went for a quick dip in the lagoon, it was extremely warm. I had a good chat with Ronnie about being autistic, she is the first person I have discussed this with since I have arrived in Fiji. At the catamaran, they were jumping off the side so I braved it and did 3 jumps.

Then it was off for our final snorkeling adventure of the day. I fed some fish then as I was heading slowly back to the boat, I saw a small school of transparent fish!

When I got back to the boat, I chatted with a lady from the North Island of New Zealand who said that the weather had changed and there
floods in Canterbury and the surrounding areas. It was so bad that they had to shut down Christchurch Airport!

Snack time

The wind picked up as we sailed back and we kept getting splashed from the front of the boat. The boat was very rocky and it was quite a balancing act to walk around. The crew made various palm tree animals and flowers and one crew member had difficulty putting a bracelet on me.

As we entered the harbour we saw a double rainbow.
