Manchester to Hong Kong Airport

When I went to check in, I was queried me about whether I was able to open the aircraft door as my seat was next to the exit. Thankfully they believed that I would be capable of doing this task otherwise I would have spent £150 extra for nothing. There is a desk near the check in desks where they give special assistance for autistic people, I was given a lanyard with sunflowers on and told that a person would help me through customs.

I was helped by Nigel from Cornwall never flew, he reassured me and assisted me through customs, but then sent me to the wrong gate. When I consulted the assistance desk, she said that the plane was leaving from gate a12, a 15 minute walk, when I got there, there was nobody but thankfully a security guard who begrudgingly said that this was the correct place but I was early

When I boarded the plane, I was nearly put in a seat that had a very narrow space, I complained and the air crew quickly rectified the situation, especially as I had paid so much for the seat.

Too narrow

My plane was an Airbus a350-1000. An important piece of information for my brothers. I was expecting a huge jumbo jet type craft so was a bit disappointed.

We were delayed by a Turkish aircraft when it was time to take off, which was parked in front of us. My dad would have found that funny. It was a bit of a bumpy take off and then it was a 10 hours and 52 minutes flight!

The food was just about digestible, I didn’t sleep much but watched a lot of downloads on my kindle including the fall, it was a good suspense thriller. The toilet was yucky, but the flight attendants kept cleaning and it didn’t smell.

My Gluten Free option

There were lots of people wearing masks including the flight attenders. I made sure I drank lots of water.

When I got off plane, it became very overwhelming as I did not know which way to go, should I collect my luggage and do I fill in an immigration form. I ended up in floods of tears but was told that it would be forwarded on to Fiji and I would have to check in at 12 as I was unable to check-in online. My master plan of buying a lounge pass went up in smoke. I got some food, spoke to a few friendly faces and managed to calm down. Me not likey Hong-Kong airport

Looks better than it tastes
