When I woke up and checked my email and discovered that my flights from Hong Kong to Manchester had been cancelled which needed to be sorted asap. A quick call to Tony meant I had to wait until the evening before I could properly sort it out.

It was lovely to be chilling and not having to rush to do an activity. Jenny drove us both into Oamaru. We had a look around some of the shops which sold lovely items so I treated myself to a native wooden flower necklace and a wooden Ikiwi balancing game. We also had a look at a strange art workshop.

We then headed to Tees Street cafe where there was a very grumpy waitress who banged the metal chairs as she rearranged them. However, they served delicious food and I had a tasty eggs benedict.

After lunch we headed to the steam punk museum. There were strange and weird and wonderful exhibits. The portal room was my favourite with an amazing light show. The white room consisted of a film show with weird and bizarre geometric images that changed. I felt like being hypnotised.

Oamaru had stunning shops and I had to refrain to buy stuff. We then picked up Mia at her school.
We headed back and chilled, Izaak and I dove to the river where he showed me the various places to find fish.

When we got back, Mia helped make tea which was baked risotto that took longer than anticipated.
I spoke to the travel agents and they sorted my flights out.
