Captain Cook Cruise

After wishing my big sister a very happy birthday and finally seeing my husband using messenger. I walked to the bus stop via the chemist to get some more sun cream. Unfortunately I chose the wrong type as I misunderstood what the assistant said as when I tried to apply it on I realised it was tinted and look awful against my milk white legs! I was picked up at 8.25 by a lovely Fijian driver and we chatted about Airbnb. He wanted to open his house and I was advising him on what I look for.

Captain, oh my captain

When I was waiting to embark I met a lovely couple called robbin and Don from Australia who let me tag along with them. They reminded me of my mum and dad and later that day at dinner when I was telling my hosts about them I was nearly in tears as my mum and dad would have done the same of taking someone under their wings.

It was a different type of sail boat that I boarded today and a different atmosphere as people socialised more. There was lots of singing by crew who sang on the way there, at lunch and on the way back.

As we travelled to our island, we were asked about whether we wanted to go scuba diving and a massage. I booked a massage and declined the scuba lesson. As we disembarked the boat, we could see various fish and baby black tipped sharks which swam quite close to the shore.

There was also a glass boat tour which I did after we arrived. The guide pointed out to the group the reasons for bleached coral which was mostly affected by temperature rather than the stress of divers. It was sad to see parts of the coral with white tips.
I then had a snorkel along the pier and saw blue starfish – I thought it was rubbish at first but then realised that they were starfish.

An amazing banquet awaited us all and whilst we had our lunch there was more singing. I had a quick walk along the beach and found some crab holes then it was off for my
massage. It was for my head, shoulder and neck which cost 40 fd which worked out to £15. As we sailed back the crew sang the funniest song (see video).

Who lives in a place like this?

On the way home I had to buy more sun cream and thankfully found a cheaper chemist. A lovely Indian meal awaited me at the Airbnb and I told them about my day.
